We are very happy to announce the opening of a new space in Madrid in collaboration with CRISIS gallery (Perú) in the Malasaña neighbourhood.

This new project, conceived as a collaborative venue, will host alternate exhibitions from both galleries, except at key moments such as Apertura and ARCOmadrid, when we will present joint proposals. The main objective is to share programes, agendas and space, thus extending their reach to new audiences and establishing links with other art scenes.

The inaugural exhibition, conceived as a statement of intentions, presents a site-specific project by Agnes Essonti Luque (Bombon) and Raúl Silva (CRISIS), both finalists in the Madrid edition of the Generaciones 2024 prize. The exhibition brings together two artistic practices that, from different but complementary approaches, address urgent questions about identity, work and the hidden structures that shape our daily lives.

Both artists will deploy in this new space a critical map of the bodies, materials and narratives that often remain on the margins of the dominant visual field, opening up a common ground to reflect on the visible and invisible structures that sustain our realities.

Agnes Essonti Luque (1996, Barcelona) explores questions of identity, culture and ancestry from a decolonial perspective. She will present a series of newly produced works, encompassing photography, installation and video, that draw on activism and decolonising movements, generating spaces for reflection on self-representation and belonging. Raúl Silva (Lima, 1991) presents a series of works about the hidden infrastructures that sustain connectivity and modern architecture. Through his work, he makes visible the precarious role of the technicians -mainly Latin American migrants- in charge of installing fibre optics in Spain, questioning how the technological and advertising narrative dematerialises the infrastructure, erasing not only its materiality but also the labour that makes it possible.
